| I had not planned on having any more
litters this year for fear of the economy, but then recently, Denny was
bitten and badly hurt by my husbands beagle and I quickly realized that
so many unexpected things can happen to these little guys, and I don't
have anyone to carry on his line. Losing my best companion would
be devastating enough, but to also loose out on what I'd worked so hard
to achieve, would greatly compound that. So, now I have bred him
to Buttons again and the puppies were born November 20th. Two
girls and Two boys. Photos will follow shortly.
After this back-to-back litter, Buttons will
be semi-retired for awhile to recover. With the plans to send
Denny to Canada for showing, I worried that I would not get another
chance for a Denny/Buttons litter before he leaves. And because of
his recent emergency, I did not want to take the chance of missing this
one. (Fingers crossed for another super nice girl in this
litter!). Goober the Beagle has
since been banned from the Papillon yard and is not allowed to play with
them any more. He is not an aggressive boy, but he does not
realize how big and strong he is compared to these little guys. |
